I will overcome!

Yesterday i've attended an "Emotional Intelligence" course provided by our firm and in some instances, I find some points really inspiring and perhaps that's what I need to motivate myself to face the CPA exam coming in two days time..

Emotional intelligence is surprisingly something that can be "learned"..Let me share with you what I've learned in that short one day course:

- Learn how to express your feelings, be honest with your own feelings.

- Be the master of your emotions, don't ever let them control/work against you

- Sometimes we see what we want to see and disregard the rest > try to change that

- Our emotional life is influenced by our map of the world. Change our map of the world and we change how we see, hear, feel and behave.

One very interesting quote from Aristotle was brought up during the course:

" To be angry with the RIGHT person, to the RIGHT degree at the RIGHT time, for the RIGHT purpose and in the RIGHT way..."

The next time you feel like you can't control your emotions, give yourself the time to cool down because an angry person can never make the right decision in which case many regretful things might happened later..then ask yourself, what solutions can i get for this problem and don't ever talk negativity into yourself..

There's one story that our trainer told us las nite, it's about a 12 yr old gal commiting suicide. Here's the story:

This gal didn't do well in her exam and on the day she collected her report card, she try to liquid and changed the result before showing it to her dad. But when her father saw the report card, he became suspicious that something must have gone wrong and said he would call the school and asked. The moment the father said this, the gal rush out of the door and jumped off from the balcony.

Isn't this pathetic and sad? Isn't this something that could be avoided if the father was angry to the RIGHT DEGREE? It's just an exam! It's not the end of the world. The story continued when the gal's father was being interviewed and he said, "I don't know why she jumped..".

Whatever we said and do, there will be consequences..

So always stay positive! There's nothing in this world that you won't be able to overcome..

Tell yourself :
I can do this, I will overcome, I will survive, I will persevere and I will succeed.
